Following on from the overwhelming success of last
year's Ryan's Ryde, we are pleased to announce "Ryan's Ryde 2008" This is a ride out and much
more.........................
This year the ride out will be on
SUNDAY 17 AUGUST.
The ride out will leave
from Hopwood services Junction 2 of the M42 meet at 11.00 leave Hopwood at
11.30. travelling to Hampton ferry, Evesham.
Camping
available Saturday 16 August if required
at the Rose and Crown,
Alcester Rd (A435 Junction 3 M42) Portway Birmingham. With Entertainment
and hog roast Saturday night.
Thanks to the incredible
support from everyone involved last year we were able to raise over £5,500 for
the Paul Ackrill Fund, (see link at top of this
page), a charity set up in the memory of an
incredibly brave young man which gives a donation of £500 to teenagers and
young people suffering from terminal cancer.
We, the organisers of
RyansRyde, became aware of this wonderfully generous fund when our
grandson, Ryan, received £500 quite unexpectedly. Sadly Ryan died in March
2006, aged just 19, and as Ryan loved his bikes, we thought it only
fitting to raise some money and awareness of the disease by
hosting an event like this, all of the proceeds of which will go into
the fund and hopefully this will help more people like Ryan and Paul as
every £500 raised will go towards helping to make there lives more
enjoyable.
Once again this year there will be a raffle, which
will be drawn on Sunday lunchtime on arrival at Evesham.
Once
we arrive at
Hampton ferry, Evesham, you are free to enjoy the delights
of Rafael's Restaurant or take a stroll into town, we will be
heading back to the Rose and Crown at 4 pm. With your generous support we are hoping to be able to
make life that bit easier for even more young people this
year.
